Jamilah proudly brings over 19 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Prior to joining ConferenceDirect, she achieved success in numerous hotel leadership roles, including serving as the opening Director of Sales and as a General Manager for two new hotels. Her expertise spans renowned hotel brands such as Marriott, Hilton, and Starwood. Additionally, Jamilah has excelled in various positions at the General Manager and Director levels, focusing on catering, meeting/event planning sales, and operations in unique venues. These venues range from conference centers, institutions of higher education, museums, and mansions, to yachts, accommodating groups ranging from 10 to 5,000 people. Furthermore, she has actively served on the Board of Directors for Visit Macon and the West Virginia Society of Association Executives. Jamilah has also been a member of Meeting Professionals International, National Association for Catering & Events, and other industry organizations.
With her comprehensive understanding of hotel operations and extensive experience in diverse venue spaces, Jamilah is an invaluable resource for all her clients. She works with clients nationwide, simplifying the meeting planning process and assuming the time-consuming responsibilities of researching, contacting, and evaluating event venues. Her dedication to delivering first-class service extends to corporate clients, associations, and social groups, aiming to save them time and money by negotiating the most favorable contract terms. Whether the event is small or large, Jamilah is eager to assist.
Jamilah holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Hospitality Management from Howard University, as well as a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of New Haven. She resides in West Virginia with her husband and daughter. During her leisure time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, cooking, reading, and actively participating in volunteer roles within her local community.
